RUNNING MECHANICS Academy

Ages 5 & up| ALL ATHLETES WELCOMED

WHY RUNNING MECHANICS MATTER

At Yah Nation Athletics, we believe every athlete should understand the “why” behind running, not simply be told to run.

Many athletes already possess speed but have never been taught how to use it efficiently. Poor posture, improper arm action, inefficient foot strike, limited body control, and wasted movement can prevent athletes from reaching their full potential.

Our Running Mechanics Academy focuses specifically on teaching athletes how to run with proper form, control, and efficiency. This is not an agility or position-specific training program. Athletes from every sport and position are welcome because proper running mechanics benefit everyone.

Athletes will learn acceleration, body position, stride mechanics, arm action, deceleration, re-acceleration, balance, and movement efficiency. More importantly, they will understand why each fundamental matters and how it helps bring out more of their natural speed.

Coach JJ’s Running Philosophy

“People always say speed kills—and I agree. But what happens when speed meets speed?”

When two athletes are equally fast, fundamentals become the difference.

The athlete with better mechanics, body control, balance, and decision-making can create separation. Sometimes winning is not about running faster. It is about knowing when to accelerate, slow down under control, make a move, and explode back toward top speed.

We do not simply teach athletes to run fast. We teach them how to run efficiently and move with purpose.

Each recurring 4-week development block builds upon previous instruction through repetition and progressive learning. Development does not end after four sessions—athletes continue improving as new running progressions and concepts are introduced.

When speed meets speed, mechanics matter.
